Minor Make Over

Why do we need a make over, particularly for the ladies?
Simply because it changes your appearance be it small or big, be it recognizable or just a sense of you being 'perasaan' that the verdict turns you to the once beautiful ugly duckling.
Been weeks I wanted to trim my eyebrow which I am really incapable of doing it on my own. Never tried. Ortherwise it turns me to be the ugliest person in this world. Went to 1B with hubby few days back and headed to Empro counter for eyebrow plucking. Only cost RM10. Worth the value- I got nicer eyebrow. Well groom. The eye pencil only cost RM38.9o. Easy to use, hassle free. No need to pay for the trimming if we buy the eye pencil. Even amatur can use it easily. Head one for it now..

Life as a teacher

I was to be transfered to SM Teknik Likas. Dunno how's it's gonna be. As long as I am with hubby then I'll accept every changes. Everything needs sacrifice. I haven't regard myself as a person who has sacrifice a lot for the sake of my students. So, when students keep on coming to me asking for forgiveness, prayers and blessings especially every end of the year I am quite touched. I am not sure whether they are being that honest of it's just the school culture but still my blessings are upon them. After all, that is part of a life of a teacher, rite? This year, the act of one student really touch me. He never did anything wrong to me. Not even once. He came to me like the rest asking for forgiveness and blessings and gave me kit kat that only cost RM1.30(I guess he forgot to take off the tag). It's not the price that counts but it's his sincerity and his memo. And today I will always remember him.

Ask and you shall be given

When I was applying for transfer, I was never confident of getting it. In fact, I have no feeling at all. Pasrah. That's the best word to describe all. I asked Elda, and she said just pray. And that is what I did. So sad when some implied that I use middleman to go through all these. Never mind la... I know the truth. Hubby also reminded me to keep on praying and ask for what is best for both of us. That is what I did. Thank god all go smoothly and I am more into the belief that ask and you shall be given....

YUHUUUUUUUU...............KK

I couldn't believe my first time luck. I was like crazy when Edward sent me this sms. Wow Dawn.. kau dapat pindah oh.. Tahniah dia bilang.!!Congrats..!! (I asked him to check for me as I was on sending hubby to KK). Initially, I thought he was just creating a sense of me being perasaan for getting the transfer... I called him and there he was answering in a sad tone. He couldn't get the transfer though he has applied twice.I feel sorry for him. I know that feeling of being rejected especially when you are rejected twice. Try again... we use underground if the angelic way is not working for you. Oh ya, as hubby was here when I received the good news, my happiness is more than I can describe. I smile all the way and laugh loud (louder than usual). Next year is going to be my new life. Thank you god.

6.11.2009

A friend mentioned to me that today the result for the transfer will be out. Last nite, I slept early so that the day flies fast. I ended waking every early today. 4.45 a.m. Huh, luckily I am not sleepy yet. At school I open the net early in the morning but what turns out is Minta maaf, sistem pertukaran guru sedang diselenggara buat masa ini. Chee... thought they have worked hard the nite to install all the data. A friend who also ask for transfer commented Tak masuk ofis lagi orang-orang nie tu la pasal tak de result lagi I waited anxiously till 9.00 a.m.. Still the same. Then, came another news... pertukaran guru antara daerah tu lama lagi 9.11.2009 cheeee... have to wait in despair. Again.

How to kill your husband

I'm currently on this. How to kill your husband by Kathy Lette. One of her top 10 bestseller. Borrowed one from Sd. Thanks to her. Well, the title is just figuratively speaking. How would I be so dare to kill someone let alone my hubby. Don't want to end my life staying in prison. It doesn't worth it, does it?

I had stopped reading for a while, not because I don't have the time but because (hehehehe excuses lagi) I don't want to. I only read magazines all the time. Light reading. To release tense from school (macam la byk keja). In fact, I am more to hilarious kindda stuff. More into You Tube lately. easier. Besides, inflation causes me to cut on some budget. Magazines prices are suprising uncontrolled and increases as the shop wants it to be. When I have extra $$ for it then I'll go for it. If not, other option would be borrow from others. I surf almost everyday, so I still have the privilegde of reading. Thanks to technology

Bye.. bye..

I'm quite punctual. Never miss anything in life... BEFORE. How come I ter miss looking at my flight back to Tawau last Sunday. I'm ageing I guess. I thought my flight was at 9.00 p.m. instead it was 8.20 p.m. I arrived at Terminal 2, KKIA at 7.50. Means I still have 30 minutes before the plane board unfortunately I wasn't given any mercy at all. So, I bought another ticket for the next day flight. Another unlucky day for me. I supposed to fly at 8.20 p.m.but it was retime to 10.10 p.m. huh.. spending my time alone at the airport was a horrible time.. Hope to not repeat the same thing again.

Chilling out...

We work and we deserve every penny we are paid for. So, don't feel guilty of treating ourselves handsomely. When I was at U, I treat myself nicely for every single test I underwent... For every test I still remember that Jess and I would go to McD to have our sundae. For students, sundae cone is considered expensive. Someday, Mimie and I would go jogging and would also stop by at McD to have our sundae cone. Till today I still love McD sundae... yummy..

Now that I'm working I still do the same to myself but treatment is quite different now. I love to pamper myself going for manicure and pedicure, have my hair washed at the saloon, trimming my bushy eyebrow, etc... This month, my friends and I decided to go to The Nail Salon for SPA manicure and pedicure..Love the treatment a lot. Will go waxing soon. Ooooouuuuuccchhhhhh

I love this colour bar...

Having fun being treated

Waiting for my turn

Bestnya...

Dream Weaver

Dream weaver is new to me. In fact, I got the wrong spelling the first time I heard it. It’s on web designing. Very informative. Participants are mostly teachers. A small gathering of Tawau teachers. I learnt quite a few stuff. Useful tips. Soon will be able to apply it on my own. Wink.

Haiya… Dayang kenapa salah-salah lagi tu….

Na.. peace to the world… paham juga

Ko mengajar ka ko marah-marah si Christy tu Arnie?

Sempat lagi posing-posing

After the Dream weaver thingy.. we headed to Nostagia..a nice-cosy-dimmed-light restaurant. Very nice place for a malu-malu couple.. At Tawau, on the way to Giant.

My plan is to take the picture behind, but ended up with this one… It's a picture of old Tawau

Na… Dayang… hehehhehe

Wei… macam outside food saja tu.... hahahhaha

.

Arnie’s menu… forgot the name.. It comes in Combo. Consider Cheap. These two plus ice-cream as dessert. RM 8.90.

Salad fried rice. Took the photo after a bite from Dayang.

Down with flu

I hate flu.. I am attacked by flu for the third time this year. It's not good at al. My immunity system is not as good as ever. Need to take lots of vitamin C. I did actually but ermmm don't know what else to do. Perhaps I'm more towards mother nature. When it's affected so do I. ;-). Still down with flu I still go to school. Don't want to be sicker staying at home alone counting times, wiping my teary-big-flu eyes that looks like I was crying the whole night.

My old homey..

We live at Silam camp, Lahad Datu for years.. It was a very nice place. We had our own entertainment that we organised on our own. Back then I realised that only few teens are involved in any social activities. We definetely had a very good old days. Even fall in love with the place and the people around there. I even have my crush there! How I wish Silam is the Silam that I used to live. Now, it's no longer Silam that we use to know. It's dirty and not even beautiful. Besides, there are different people who live there now. Not the old people. This is a pic taken of the old jetty where we used to lepak after jogging at the beach very early in the morning... It remains a memory for us.

Vroom... vroom...

Dawne wira is at beauty parlour... Need to do some beautification to the engine. Has been a trouble lately. So, I go to school with another vroom vroom that sounds very sporty and loud. Due to that I have to go early to school and be back late because of that embarrassing sound. For me at least. One thing I discover while driving this car is that men tend to look at driver who have sporty car. Hubby, it's not my fault ah...

Ramadhan Mood

Hari Raya is always great for us the whole family. Yet this year it's a lil bit different. My grandma was sick so we went back kampung to visit her. My aunt is still sick. So, her whole family whom we use to go together-gether every raya can't go anywhere. We do visit my muslim uncle but it's a lil bit boring. Besides, I have to go through marking students' paper which is totally outrageous and awful especially during raya mood.. so much thinking of raya. Hope to have great raya next year! Lucky, I can eat kuih raya and ketupat palas froms friends.. Thanks pal!

Pain in the stomach

I develop a very painful stomach. It's not exactly in my stomach but it's located on the left hand side under my stomach. Don't know what's went wrong. Everything seems rite. Rite food at the rite time. Still I haven't gone to the clinic because I myself cannot locate where the pain is. Walking does not cause any pain but only when I stoop a bit. I googled myself for the answer. Only then I'll go to the clinic.I got a very comprehensive outlook of it. I short it's all related to my bowel.. errrmm gonna have papayas then hehehhehe

RON 95 & RON 97

Hubby's job is dealing with automobile. Yesterday, after reading my blog he suggested why not writing something informative. Reluctant at first since he gave me a hard topic. After a moment decision I took at as I don't have any topic to say yet otherwise I'll go mumbling. Looking at the issue as BIG as I decided to google for it. Sounds boring but useful and informative. I got some for the reference. Check from this Ron 95 and Ron 97 for Malaysian drivers
This RON 97 is common use for majority of our cars.At the same time, another new petrol grade will be introduced which is RON 95 (with cheaper price, RM1.75/liter).

RON–> Research Octane Number

Wiki notes:

Octane rating of a spark ignition engine fuel is the detonation resistance (anti-knock rating) compared to a mixture of iso-octane (2,2,4-trimethylpentane, an isomer of octane) and n-heptane. By definition, iso-octane is assigned an octane rating of 100, and heptane is assigned an octane rating of zero. An 87-octane gasoline, for example, possesses the same anti-knock rating of a mixture of 87% (by volume) iso-octane, and 13% (by volume) n-heptane. This does not mean, however, that the gasoline actually contains these hydrocarbons in these actual proportions. It simply means that it has the same detonation resistance properties as the described ’standard’ defined mixture.
Octane number refers to the gasoline ability to withstand auto ignition inside the engine. Simply said, RON97 is harder to ignite compared to RON95.

I believe some of us might switch from RON97 to RON95 due to the cheaper price.BUT, you are advised to check out your vehicle fuel requirement, to ensure compatibility and usability.

The effect of using lower RON then the requirement: KNOCKING ( poor performance of your vehicle)

There are 3 ways to check:-
1. From your vehicle guide book.

2. Min Octane Number Rating at the back of the fuel lid cover

3. Ask the car manufacturer.

Going groove with a new look (soon)

I've been looking at my wish list... It's a llllllllllllllllllllllllloooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggggg list. Some are a long way to achieve. So, have to go for a short term list then. I want a pair of jeans.. it's been a while I haven't updated my wardrobe. End of this year hubby and I decided to spoil ourselves a bit. Updating look and wardrobe. We had enough of spending money on the wedding so time to swift it a bit for our own fun.

Christmas 2009

Photo taken during Christmas 2008 at Executive Hotel.
These are some of mummy family members at Lahad Datu.

Few months to go but I’m going blue for this year’s Christmas. Hubby said that we are going to have the first Christmas together at Keningau, his hometown. We discussed this earlier so that we won’t argue of a last minute decision. It’s a double happiness to be together as husband and wife for Christmas but it’s a grief to be apart from parents. I spend most of my Christmas with my family (except when I was years back studying and can’t afford to go back on Christmas). Though it is just a small family gathering yet it means a lot to us and year by year memories will linger in our minds and share by us all. So, whenever each month passes by and December is coming it hurts me little by little. My family will be spending Christmas at Tambunan this year and it’s only 45 minutes away from Keningau, but still we will not be able to have Christmas mass together… sob sob… sob…

Hospitalised

My aunt has just been admitted. It’s a bit odd seeing her laying on the bed at the hospital since we never seen her being admitted that terrible except on one incident where she was caught with malaria. Now, she’s diagnosed with mild stroke. I pity her. Once she was not able to utter a speech. Last Sunday she’s getting better but still sleeping all the time and easily exhausted. We knew that she has diabetes and high blood pressure but I guess none will thought that she will be like this. It all started with just having diarrhea followed by fainted. Thus, leads to hospitalization. Well, everyone needs to take care of our own health. None will benefit the most except our own selves. I’m not saying that my aunt didn’t take care of herself but, she likes to eat outside the most, means lots of MSG. It’s safer to cook at home. Clean and not a hole in the pocket. The Malaysians women’s weekly for September issue has a very good issue on the debut of health conscious. Grab one and read on the health problem that we naively never think of such as a gastric pain that was actually a heart attack!

HALAL

I've been missing blogging... Too much things to do, too much troubles with broadband and school line connection. Lucky for me today to have a good line at school.... It's fasting month, and as usual we the non-muslim will be able to eat outside of school compound which is an honour and a time worth waiting for. Okay, today Arnie and I went to a chinese restaurant at the new Hot spring area at Tawau. I go for mee hoon soup (camca ;-) )while Arnie goes for tom yam mee hoon soup . I also ordered tapau mee hoon goreng kering seafood for Christy... The moment we mentioned seafood the Filipino waiter would keep on saying halalkah? Arnie and I exchange a weird look with each other then we started to mention all over again no...... seafood. Then the waiter keep on insisting saying halalkah? Errrrmmm what actually does he mean by halal? Anyway this restaurant isn't even a halal restaurant... hahhahahaha.. Ok then, after exchanging another funny look with Arnie then only we realised it's Friday and we are wearing baju kurung plus eating delicious food in the month of Ramadhan... Well.. I supposed that's why he keep on saying halal... maybe he tries to convey that we shouldn't eat during fasting month... hehehehehhe.. I guess so.. OR? He has another interpretation of HALAL.. which would mean to him of not adding pork to our meal... well, people as SATU MALAYSIA we should ask our Muslim friends the real meaning of HALAL then...

Bini VS Isteri

What's the difference between bini and isteri? None. They do mean wife. For me wifey should be addressed properly. Called them nicely. I once got a counseling lecturer who kept on saying to not calling names to people. Just call them with fruits names but not animal thingy. So, he would called us with papayas, betik, pisang (but pisang connotes monkey, hehehehhe). Errrmm, I would always remember him because he always praised my beautiful-big eyes, though sometimes he sounds annoying. Back to square one. I mentioned to my hubby once we haven't got married on not to introduce me as bini, I don't like it. It sounds rude and disrespect. Some of you might view it differently. So far, hubby introduced me as isteri. ;-) which sounds really nice. Once in a while he would got a slip of the tongue and he would look at me as if asking to be excuse. Hehehehe.... ba, it's not a big sin so I won't bring the matter to a longer extend.

Farewell Puan

Farewell puan... We are going to have a new principal. Yesterday we had a bit of makan-makan for her. But since everyone is hungry so it looks like the farewell party is for everyone and not to our respective pua. All are in the go to attack the food. Even our pincipal is in the mid of the attacking session. Pity her.. Macam la kami yang happy plak dia pindah.Happy because we have free lunch la tu... hehehhee

Tatooing for myself....

I love tatoo a lot.. I've been considering myself to have one a long time ago. Unfortunately, I could not have one. Why? I have a keloid.. a skin problem. Doc said I have sensitive skin. So do my uncle and other cousins... Genetically inherited. It's ok.. It's heir. Hehehehe....But mine is only half body... Means I can have tatoo from my buttocks till the sole. Wow, sounds nice. Hubby has three tatoos. On his back, his arm and on his leg. na, that's why I fall in love with him. Sexy tau.. ;-) Initially he is afraid to show them to my parents. It took him a while to be a pretender. Now, na, none la. Erm.. If I tatoo my leg means I can wear my sexy mini skirt to school, ermm.. tak kan on my buttocks.. Only one person can see then. I actually like a small tatoo on my neck. Now that I have long hair that would be an advantage. Have to think about it again..

That's how hubby's arm tatoo is.. but that is not his arm ah..
His is more powerful

Na this is what I want

Hi.. I'm Dawn...

Hubby and I attended a friend's wedding last week. It's Donny wedding. 8.8.2009 at Putera ballroom. There were a lot of people. Definitely, the one that I never had the idea of who... I only know some though. My nerves went up starting right on the time we arrived there. I had to prepare myself to meet loads of hubby's friends. I have to shake hands to everyone though it is avoided due to H1N1.. hehehhe.. na.. that's just an excuse. I have to keep on saying.. Hi.. I'm Dawn, shoke hands there... hi, I'm Dawn... huh.. all through the nite that is what I had to go through. I guess that's the priviledge of being a newly wed.. hehehehe. Anyway, I do enjoy the wedding. It has been a while I haven't attended such a big crowd (apart from my day).

Mourning for the one we love...

It has been a week since Marklyn left us with a big question mark. He had decided to go with his own way. He has no sickness that could worry anyone and left us all thinking on how long will he live. He is indeed a quite yet skillful lad. He had decided to commit suicide to settle his own problem which is yet blurry to us all. Your passing is mourned by us but hopefully it brings you good. Marklyn, no matter what you have done, we want you to know that all of us here, far and near will always pray for you. Hope that you'll be with Him in heaven. We want you to know that you will always be in our heart and we love you. Forgive what we have done to you. May your soul rest in peace.

Be careful

Have to be extra careful with own health.. H1N1 has affected our school. Luckily only one is examined to be positive. I developed some symptoms few days ago after returning from KK (went back for a funeral). Got a little bit scared but still manage to overcome it. If I happened to have fever again in this coming three or four days then I have to have a full check up at hospital then. Hopefull I won't get a bad news.

Stop talking if you aren't acting...

Some like to complaint but doing nothing, some just sit and and doing nothing. Which one do you prefer? Both moght not work for you.. Let say you are FORCE to opt... Which one suit you? I prefer the later. Why? Because I hate when people keep on saying this and that.. aiming this and that but had no force or has no direction in doing what he or she dreams of.. Buzz off and shut your mouth then

Wishing for things

I wish for a change almost everyday.. why? I want a better day, day by day. Of course others wish for the same though. None want to have the same day everyday. It would be dull for us. Little did I realise that wishing a thing could be a trigger or stressor. When I'm stress none looks like a rainbow. Last week, I went back L.Datu and I encounter mummy's book.. forgot the title but the author is Andrew Matthews. A renowed speaker from Australia. Grabbed the book and finish reading in a day. Ignoring other works. Really hook up with this book. Check out a link to his website. http://success-and-happiness.net/wishing-for-things.html

Miss to Madam..

Students are always funny. When they discovered that I'm already married, my once famous title (MISS) automatically switch to MADAM. And I am here still adapting myself to this new title. It's good that my status has upgraded. Once my ex student called my and keep calling me MISS.. I corrected him and said I' m not MISS anymore but MRS. Then he said ohh... MADAM.. I feel like I am like one of the police officer who has a high ranking position. Hehehehehe.. When I got gift and the mc announce my name as PUAN Dawn instead of my use to title... I got a weird feeling. Funny + scary + weird+ is-the-mc-calling-me-kindda-of feeling

English

I always love English. I am not born in a English speaking family We only speak English occasionally. That would be a mixture with Kadazan, Dusun and Malay. In short we speak ‘rojak’ at home. My fond of English comes out when my family was transferred to Lahad Datu. There I have many Filipinos friends who are quite good in English. Besides, in order to understand my teacher for catechism (Sunday school) I must have extensively quite good command of English. Not wanting to be left behind, I polished my English. I have no regret in doing so. After SPM I further my study in TESL. Though it was never my choice by that time but I have no other option. I always want to do law but never have the support. So here I am being an English teacher who often hears complaints from students that English is hard. Kids…if you say English is difficult then why you never get extinction in your BM either... make sense kan…These kids always give the same old-lame-rotten excuses. Yet I never doubt that English is a crazy language. Learning one grammar rule to another will lead to insanity. In the end, only common sense sounds right.

English is one of the noblest bodies of literature yet is a crazy language. There is no egg in eggplant, neither pine nor apple in pineapple, and no ham in hamburger. English muffins weren’t invented in England or French fries in France. Sweetmeats are candy, while sweetbreads, which aren’t sweet, are meat.
We take English for granted. But when we explore its paradoxes, we find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square, and a guinea pig is neither a pig nor from Guinea.
And why is it that a writer writes, but fingers don’t fing, grocers don’t groce and hammers don’t ham? If the plural of tooth is teeth, shouldn’t the plural of booth be beeth? One goose, two geese- so one mouse, two meese? One index, two indices – one Kleenex, two Kleenices?
If the teacher taught, why isn’t it true that the preacher praught? If a horsehair mat is made from the hair of horses and a camel’s hair coat from the hair of camels, from what is a mohair coat made from? If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?
Well kids, English was invented by people, not computers, and it reflects the creativity of the human race (which of course, isn’t really a race at all). That is why, when stars are out they are visible, but when the lights are out they are invisible. And why, when I wind up my watch I start it, but when I wind up this essay I end it.

Weak end...

Since I have not been running for many years already and without any warm up, I'm having a weak weakend. At least Hasni made it to the end and become the first... Can't forget the victorious moment... The students might feel the same as we did when we emerge as the champion though MEGA only got third place overall. Kudos to all.. Hope to have another sport days next year.

Tips..

Some who are getting married may have problems with their weight. I did when my wedding was approaching. I desperately want to gain weight at least 3 kilos. I don’t want to look thin and pale. Definitely my hubby will not have mood looking at me… hahahahaha.. na.. I encounter an article on healthy eating tips. Here it is.. just to share some with you all.

- have breakfast within 30 minutes of waking up to stabilize blood sugar and reduce sugar cravings
- consume a mix of colourful vegetables every day
- use fats and oils sparingly. Olive, canola, and peanut oils, avocados, nuts and nuts butters and fish as well as vitamins and minerals.
- Don’t skip meals. Eating increases your metabolism, so eat four to five small meals every three to four hours
- Have low-fat, low-sugar snacks at hand to combat hunger and prevent over-eating.
- Increase eating of natural foods and reduce processed foods. Natural foods such as fruits and vegetables are, for the most part, already low in calories.
- Eat sweet sparingly and cut out white foods like sugar, flour and bread. They raise insulin levels, protecting your stored fat instead of burning it off.
- Drink at least 8 glasses of water. Water flushes out the system and eliminates armful toxins. It forces the body to work more efficiently, speeds up metabolism, and makes it easier to lose weight and burn fat.
- Eat slowly. Chew your food completely to decrease your appetite.
- Do not eat after 8 p.m. as this is the time your digestion starts to slow down. However, if you’re famished and absolutely must eat, take a small piece of fruit or a cup of herbal tea.

Jokes

I always love jokes… Can’t live without it even a day. I think something wrong with me if I didn’t laugh even once a day. The saying ‘Laughter, the best medicine’ is indeed true for me. If none is accompanying me I would rather sit down and read on jokes and laugh all alone. Those who knows me definitely knows how much I laugh… here are some beneficial jokes to share.

*A bachelor asked the computer to find him the perfect mate: ‘I want a companion who is small and cute, loves water sports and enjoys group activities.”
Back came the answer: “Marry a penguin”.

*At the perfume counter, a customer picked up one bottle and gingerly sniffed its fragrance, ‘surrender’ is our hottest item,” interjected the salesclerk. “Would you like to purchase some?”
“It’s nice,” she replied. “But do you have anything called ‘Negotiate’?”

*The great novelist had gone mad, but now there seemed to be some hope for his recovery. For six months, he had been sitting at his typewriter pounding out a novel. Finally he pronounced it completed and brought the book to his psychiatrist, who eagerly began reading it aloud:
“General Jackson leaped upon his faithful horse and yelled, ‘Giddyap, giddyap, giddyap, giddyap….’” The doctor thumbed through the rest of the manuscript. “There’s nothing here but 500 pages of giddyaps!” he exclaimed.
“Stubborn horse,” explained the writer.

p/s jokes adapted from various sources…. Enjoy…

Gonna miss him...

It will be a month pass before I'm foing to meet hubby. Next week he'll be away to Clark for company trip. This week pun can't meet him. He hasn't been back to Keningau after our wedding because of work load. It's okay lah...what to do.. just accept it then. The good news is that he'll be at Tawau for a week after his trip. Self quarantine from H1N1. I'm so happy... Extremely. I warn him many times to be careful and take care of his personal hygiene. Silap-silap kita plak yang terkena nanti. He got a jab for H1N1. Then, comes with sore throat. Pity him. Could only sms him many times. Can't talk that much. Got to ask him to wash hands many times when he goes toilent. have to ask him too to buy waterless hand sanitizer and tissue.. got to do it now before I forgot. I'm absent minded lately...

PPSMI

Why is education being politicized? Again, PPSMi is debated. Personally, PPSMI as well as the teaching of science and maths in English has indeed help many parties academically. The problem that I can see is the lack of training in this respect and inadequate knowledge in terms of writing and speaking in English. Some teachers will not ask whether their English is correct or not. Might be due to embarrassement or 'don't care' kind of attitute. These, lead to incorrect use of English. Some might not ask questions because they don't like teaching science and maths in English. For me, before implementing this we have to ask opinions from all people, besides check on teachers and students capabilities in dealing with English... am I right. We, as teachers should voice out our opinions on this matter rather than keeping quite or babbling behind. By voicing out our opinion we might see changes that we want..

At Last...

At last my anxiety and tireness are over.. after having it enough for a year. Preparing a wedding is not that easy. Though I was given a year plus to prepare for it still I think it's not enough... ;-) but even if I was given ten years to prepare I still can say it's never enough to have a perfect wedding. Luckily, I am not a perfectionist.. Kalau tidak.... ada juga menangis kalau ada yang tidak jadi. We started preparing for the wedding right after my engagement, last March. www.theknot.com has helped me a lot. Plus the help from friends particularly family members. Always talk to those who had married. They will definetely help you to eliminate problems that might occur later. Who knows kan... My hubby and I always discuss on this matter, on any decision that should be finalized especially the BIG one. small one is up to me to decide since we are miles apart. I can say we had so much arguments... but in the end it was really fun and all our arguments turn up to be jokes. Hehehehehe. I feel very blessed on that day because many of my relatives and friends.. far and near, come. I enjoyed my night and I hope the same goes to my supportive guests... we dance all night. I have many dance performances that nite as well as beautiful singers. All for free.. Thank you to all.. that is all I can say. No doubt I was really-really exhausted. Fatigue. Nevertheless, it all worth it. Friends and my sis uploaded few pictures on my facebook. Enjoy browsing them. Two days after the wedding hubby and I headed to Manila... we really enjoyed our stay there doing nothing only enjoying and shopping, pubbing etc... so great to be out as husband and wife...Plus Manila is not bad after all for entertainment... Am glad as well to be able to blog again..

Grading days...

Why is it call grading days? Simply, since I'm marking these students essays for days. So, it's grading days... heheheheh. Don't know whatelse to call it. Honestly, I never like marking let alone exams. Personally, I don't even like to sit for exams. I don't think anyone does. Ok, back to grading. Caught some students cheating... including my bro... (apalah) He lets his friend copy is essay. Very generous! While my students copy directly from his other friend's work... cheah... apa lagi I give him a big O lah.. easy for me... Besides, I have the evidence. If none at least I still consider in giving marks. These grading days also give me headache. Last night, I was unable to mark essays due to heavy migraine... but I won't blame these grading days. Maybe because of work load. So, I decide to take Monday leave.... can't wait for it... Besides, sunday is food-tasting day... bestnya.. makan free

G.E.D.I.K

I went to salon last week for my hair washing routine. I like the massage session. Really love it. Love to be pampered. I guess the same goes with this bald - old man. Though he is totally hairless but the thought, feeling and the touch that he feels might me the main reason why he wants to go to salon just to wash his bald hair. Apa lagi mau cuci kalau tiada rambut bah kan... Unless... jeng-jeng-jeng.... Mau mengurat sampai ke urat. He askes this young lady to wash his hair. his face and his kumis. Macam geli plak... At the same time, he pour out his sweet words... so sweet till you can melt. Worst and quite embarrasing is when everyone else can hear. Alahai, this man is not that young for bercinta-cintun punya kes. Suprisingly, this lady layan saja keep on answering this man. I am not so sure of her intention it could either be that she has to or that she likes this man who looks quite good, and has handsome wallet as well. What I am sure of is that she tends to sway here and there. Her body language suggest negatively and she tends to talk dirty. YUCKSS....Another thing is that when the man's handphone rings he answered it silently... What is that suppose to mean ahhh...

Is this how we act?

Yesterday, I was at a supermarket buying fruits. No doubt there was a lot of people queuing. Well, pay day sudah bah nie... In the hectic of queuing, there was a lot of people complaining if one is late in paying out the bills. There was this one lady with a basketful of grocery waiting for her turn. So, when it was her turn the cashier suddenly took our her kunyit without telling the lady. The lady was definetely surprise. So, she was what's wrong with it. The cashier, in a very impolite manner, answered it has no price tag. Well, as I was behind I could see clearly that it does have a tag. I gave a weird look that could be seen by the cashier. Thus, the cashier said harsly that the code for the kunyit is not in entered yet. I could sense that the lady was not very please with the explanation but being a very good lady, she didn't have the guts to answer back. So pity... the cashier should actually take another pack of kunyit to replace hers. Mana tau the lady is really in need of that thing. Moral of the story- be brave when this happen to you, remember, customer always right.

Is it global warming?

I hate the heat... even if it is raining but the heat is still there. Sudahlah it is difficult for me to sleep at night panas lagi. Double trouble. What is going on ah? Last weekend when I was at KK it was also the same. Panas juga...I wish I could do something about it. This morning, Traxx FM announced that the Earth Hour campaign was a success. Then, why is this heat? Berabis kah semua orang kasi on karan ni. Well, people be conscious about our environment. Jangan pandang ringan. If I were a minister, my manifesto is on Green World. Patut ni orang politik tau mau pandang ni hal. Jangan tutup mata saja....They have too many air-cons at home that can chill them down, hah! global warming lagi nie, but we people don't. Cukup dengan kipas ceiling yang mengeriut sepanjang masa. But all are facing the heat of the earth. Is it fair? Read more on global warming http://globalwarming.change.org

Huh.. I guess no place is safe anymore. My place was once labelled as one of the safest taman, but now sorry lah.. tiada sudah Before you can leave the house with an open gate, none will be dare enough to disturb your area sekarang... hahahah.. tiada bah.. mana lagi mau tinggal ni...

What Makes A Malaysian A Malaysian

1. A typical young Malaysian can name all the players from a top English Premier League club, but ask him to name one football player from Malaysia, he cannot!
2. When StreamyX come, you complain StreamyX too slow. When Maxis Broadband come, you complain Maxis Broadband always disconnects. When WiMax come, you complain Wimax too expensive. In the end, you say StreamyX still the best lah.
3. When highway toll price increase, you complain. When petrol price increase, you complain. When you go Starbucks buy RM10 coffee, NO COMPLAINTS.
4. When you cannot find parking in a shopping mall and have to walk very far, you complain. When you go inside the shopping mall and there's SALE, run from one end of 1Utama to the other, that one NO COMPLAINT.
5. You are always late. And the excuse you give when you're late is always either: (a) traffic jam (b) no transport or (c) cannot find parking.
6. You have a parent who forces you to take science stream in high school, study engineering in Uni, then when you graduate, they ask you to forget everything you learnt in Uni and do commerce..
7. You know someone who can specially develop an angmoh accent when speaking to an American / British / Australian.
8. You complain against the government in kopitiam, you talk loud loud. Leave anonymous comments on blogs, you also talk loud loud. Attend ceremah by DAP, you shout loud loud. Then when Opposition organise a protest and ask you to go, you dun wan. Scared later kena tangkap by ISA.
9. Every year on the 30th April, you are one of the people below queuing up last minute to submit your tax return at the IRB.
10.. When you pay RM10 for something that costs RM1, you blame the Chinese.
11. When a government service is too slow, you blame the Malays.
12. When a building is not good and collapsed, you blame the Indians..
13. When a Chinese student won a scholarship, you say 'Wah! Very clever hor?' When a Malay student won a scholarship, you say 'Aiya! Of course lah! He Malay mah!'
14. When an angmoh stranger kisses you on the cheek to say hello, you very happy. When a Malaysian guy kisses you on the cheek to say hello, you slap him in face.

The Journey

Today, our school's KAT (Kejohanan Antara Teknik) team starts their journey. I wish them luck. Hopefully all of them will bring good news for the school. For few years I was involved in debate team. This year, I just stay at school editing scripts, writing the rebuttal part. Best plak stay at school. Less stress. Of course it was really enjoyable going to other schools particularly this year, at Kudat. I just hate the journey by bus going to places. It is really tiring and sometimes boring especially if you have "good-nerdy" students. Anyway, I'll pray for their success and hope that our debate team will be able to maintain their performance.

Why me?

Yesterday my car was knocked by a motorbike. Seorang Mat rempit yang tidak menggunakan mata dengan tepat telah menyondolku dari belakang. I wonder where did he put his eyes. Pecah lah lampu belakang sebelah kiri. Luckily, he didn't run away. The funniest thing is I don't know initially that it was me who was being knocked, but I was puzzled when everyone in a restaurant nearby keep looking at me. As if I was the guilty one. I tried to look from my left side mirror and my rear mirror but through my amazement I didn't see anybody. First thing on my mind is NOT TO BE PANIC. If I turned to be panicked I am sure this guy will look at me as fragile. So, I parked my car on the side and tried to talk to that guy. I can see that his motorbike got L, means he can't have another one with him. But, ada juga pemboncengnya. Soon, some of his gangs came. Hati kecilku berbisik hmmmm.... ini ada geng-geng kampung ni. However, since I know I was right so I keep reminding myself not to be afraid. I grabbed my handphone, yang baru diisi kreditnya, in case of emergency. I tried to talk with this guy who knocked my car by he didn't answer some of my questions. Instead, his friends are the one tht are busybody in answering my questions. Ok, so the guy concluded that only tomorrow, means today, he goes find me at school to pay the damage. I said I don't trust him thus, I want thing to be settled today. Ada la pula orang yang menyampuk workshop sudah tutup, aku jeling tajam dengan dia. Apa lah kalau bukan dia yang disoalan diam saja lah. It was already around 4.45 p.m. So, this guy said "Jadi Miss mau buat apa sekarang?" Apa punya soalan. Karang aku call polis terdiam juga kau sana. So I insist on going to the workshop. Okay, so he agreed. Another problem, how am I going to ensure he will bring me to the right place without running away suddenly. So, I took his IC in order for me to make sure that he would definetely go to workshop. Nanti rugi pula aku...On the way to workshop I call my fiancee to write about this guy IC number, his address, his full name, any other relevant answer. I'm afraid that nanti kena bawa plak di tempat yang tidak sepatutnya. After I called him, I called my friend. Kak Ros, whose hubby is a policeman. Na, mau security bah nie. They came for a recscue. Hehehe... Kena sayang bah ni. So, it is her hubby that settle on the situation. Well, I am not not good in cars... tau pakai jak... At last, all settle. Only today I got new lamp. Sayangnya lampu yang lama tu... Lesson to learn- NEVER GET PANIC! I was proud of myself for being able to be brave and not panic. Kudos to me.

OMG

Aku ni memang cikgu rupanya...

I just took a quiz from Facebook. I don't think it is really reliable. However, I still do it. Just for fun bah... The quiz is Pekerjaan Anda Yang Sepatutnya...it turns out that I should be a CIKGU....hehehehe... honestly, I never dream of becoming a teacher. I really want to be a lawyer. However, none of my family members or relatives granted me to be a lawyer. Kesian kan...Thus, I took TESL hoping to go oversea. Tapi tidak dapat jugak...Kesian betul... So here I am now being a teacher. Somehow, I learn to love this job. I have extra time... tapi only kadang-kadang lah now less free time, I learn about people; their type, character, personality and culture and etc.... Somehow, this quiz reminds me of my orientation week when I was in form four. We were asked to sit in circle and the fasilitator would intruct a person to write suitable job for respective student intructed on our back. The student who wrote on my back, wrote TEACHER for me... when I recap the scene... I keep on thinking.... Oh mungkin ada sudah ciri-ciri cikgu in me that I never realised. hehehe....

1001 Petua-Petua Ajaib

Due to my BIG day, again…., hehehe.. I’ve been worried about my hair. Afraid that it won’t look good. Besides, I start to lose my hair... Oh my gosh… another consideration to look at is my hair colour… It starting to show grey colour… Sign of ageing? Oh no… not that old! As I brought my students to the library, I saw this useful-easy book. KHAZANAH SILAM MANFAAT UNTUK KELUARGA 1001 petua-petua ajaib.. aha! The word ‘AJAIB’ captures my beautiful-big eyes… It is a new book at the library. I am the first one to borrow it. There are some easy ways that I can follow. Anyway, I always like this petua-petua stuff and never give up in trying it. It doesn’t matter whether it will work or not. After all there’s no harm in trying rather than wasting my money investing in chemical products that don’t work. Lemme share with you some of the ‘MIRACLE TIPS’

Masalah rambut beruban

Masalah rambut gugur

Ambil kulit tembikai, gosokkan bahagian putih pada kulit kepala. Lakukan satu minggu sekali, sehari sebelum mencuci…

Nah! Siapa sangka benda sekeliling kita banyak khasiat. Happy trying all…

p/s kalau mau lebatkan mana-mana kawasan berbulu di badan pun ada… hehehehe…

HOT DOG

What do you feel if this is your hot dog? hahahaha....

EARTH HOUR

Not many of us are aware and fully concerned in conserving the electricity. Not even half of us, I suppose, ever bother to switch off lights or electrical appliances whenever we are out. We will only switch off electrical appliances in the pretence of house burnt. Takut rugi dan hilang nyawa yet not on the purpose of saving the world. I remember going to my fiancee rented house at KL, time tu masih kawan-kawan lagi bah, and got shocked because they just left the house without switching off the TV apa lagi mau off yang lain-lain. His housemate said no need. They are lazy to keep on turning on and off the TV and the other appliances. So, I went membebel to all in the house. I don' t care if his housemates talk a damn about me. Alah, I am a friend with his housemates long before I know my fiancee, so okay lag if I membebel. Whenever I knew that they are going out, I sms them to switch off any electrical aapliances or lights. By that time sms is qute expensive oh.. RM0.50 per sms. Berkira juga tau... tapi tia pa lah. Eventually, their attitude change they start to keep on offing unnecessary appliances. So, my bebelan worth lah. Hehehe... I think, everyone should be alerted and reminded all the time on this matter. And people.. please lah.. change your attitude. Why do you want to destroy the earth Think of our future. Tak kan lah korang mau anak-anak kita jadi anak ikan berenang-renang di air sebab tiada tanah sudah. To all people... I urge all to join the EARTH HOUR 28 Mac 2009... 8.30 p.m. kasi korban dulu AF tu ah... bukan selalu.. tengok ulangan saja nanti bah..

New Hair Style

I got a new hair style today.. perm wei.. hehehe.. I bet when I come back to school loads of my friends and of course my dear students will pop me up with many questions.. apa lah. Ni I have to get ready with many answers lah nie. Have to practise during these holidays. Still, I keep on asking myself is this new hair style suit me the best. Have to decide before my big day. What I regret most is that, the barber cut my hair shorter than what I want.. sedihnya. I've been keeping my hair for a year already. Hoping to have long hair during my big day. After that, only I give myself a fresh cut. Malangnya, berkecai sudah impian ku. Ni la miscommunication with the barber. My fiancee keep on persuading me not to be sad about it because I've made a decision to perm my hair and let it be cut (but I said only a bit) so whatever happen I have to accept. Ya lah.. accept saja la nie.. (with a regretful sigh)

MARS VS VENUS

The article from INTREND magazine (March edition) makes me smile alone. Teringat kisah sendiri. Lets senyum kambing with me.

Kata orang lelaki
“Inilah rumahku syurgaku, sehinggalah the mother of queen (isteri) balik.”
Jawab orang perempuan
“Andainya pulang dengan rumah berselerak, memanglah Queen of the house marah sebab siapa pula perlu berkemas nanti?”

Kata orang lelaki
“Akulah bos di rumah, tapi nak dapat pangkat tu kena minta izin daripada Home Management. Siapa lagi keahliannya kalau bukan isteri aku?”
Jawab orang perempuan
“Secara umumnya, isteri pun hilang kebebasan selepas berkahwin. Ni, suami bercakap seperti dia saja yang tak bebas lagi. Mana adil?”

Kata orang lelaki
“Saya kahwin dah 35 tahun, tak pernah fikir mengenai hilang kebebasan.

Masing-masing perlu saling menghormati. Apa-apa perlu rujuk isteri.”
Jawab orang perempuan
“Haruslah. Berkahwin bukan hidup sendiri lagi. Missal kata yang berbaki cuma RM100, mestilah kita kena tanya pendapat pasangan juga, apa keperluan belum dibeli sebelum kita belanjakannya sesuka hati.”

Kata orang lelaki
“Ada isteri menyalahkan keluarga suami. Mereka tidak boleh setentang mata dengan mentua atau biras perempuan, mesti nak bergaduh. Saya tak faham langsung!”
Jawab orang perempuan
“Boleh berubah semua itu kalau sikap suami lebih positif dan menyokong isteri. Bukan komen atau tuduhan membabi buta tetapi lihat dan fahami keadaan ini dengan seadilnya.”

Kata orang lelaki
“Kalau dah berkeluarga, semestinya lelaki berfikir mahu menaiktarafkan kehidupan keluarga. Nak beli macam-macam untuk mereka bukan sekadar makan dan minum. Tapi ada isteri sentiasa tak cukup dengan apa yang ada, bagaimana?”
Jawab orang perempuan
“Isteri kadang-kadang bukan sekadar mahu harta benda tetapi juga kasih saying. Apalah gunanya hidup dilimpah kemewahan tetapi akhirnya ditinggal-tinggalkan jua. Betul tak?”

Kata orang lelaki
“Isteri kalau ke salun sampai dua jam. Itu paling sekejap. Walhal nasi di rumah pun belum masak.”
Jawab orang perempuan
“Mestilah, kita nak cantik! Kalau tak cantik, suami nak cari bini baru. Katanya, isteri tak in dan selekeh.”

Kata orang lelaki
“Dua-dua belah pihak akan hilang kebebasan. Bila mahu ukur siapa lebih rugi banyak, rasanya bergantung kepada hubungan dua insan dalam rumah tangga.”
Jawab orang perempuan
“Salah! Wanita lagi terikat di rumah kerana sekarang bukan soal dua insan. Anak-anak? Perasaan suami atau isteri bukan lagi jadi utama atau kedua, tetapi terletak paling akhir.”

Kata orang lelaki

Kata orang lelaki
“Suami tanggung jawabnya besar, mahu menyediakan tempat perlindungan. Kepentingan isteri lebih diutamakan daripada diri sendiri. Jadi lelakilah yang lebih pening kepala.
Jawab orang perempuan
“Isteri lebih pening kerana selepas berkahwin kena berpindah ke kediaman baru. Nak menyesuaikan diri dengan tempat baru dan orang asing, jiran baru dan sebagainya. Rasa sunyi sangat!”

Kata orang lelaki
“Cinta itu buta, perkahwinan jadikan kita celik.”
Jawab orang perempuan
“Oh, dah kahwin baru celik mata. Masa bercinta semuanya manis. Mestilah selepas berkahwin baru nampak warna sebenar. Tetapi kalau masa bercinta lagi lelaki sudah jujur, selepas berkahwin pasti kurang masalah. Betul tak suamiku?”

Hehehee… amacam?

Hope for joy

I am here invigilating Form 5 students answering their exam paper. It reminds me of my life as a student. It is reminiscence of yesteryear’s life. A life full of fun and joy. No need to think about other matters only to handle the pressure of being excellent. Sometimes, as a teacher I wonder why students these days are not that serious about their future… am I like them when I was their age? I guess not… neither am I a nerd. I play, jokes, and study at the same time. I know the latest trend (but I’m not a victim of it!), I know what’s hot on the playlists, I know the top band boy and their fav. (I try to grab for one but they didn’t even give a look at me). In fact, I knew almost everything but still I never fail in study. I am just a typical teenager with the urge to excel that’s why I strive for it. I take study seriously. Though, some will not view my achievement as a victory but I still give it a thumb up. As long as I work hard for it, then there is no regret in life. However, I am sad to see our future generation these days. Some don’t even bother what will happen to them. Some just follow the flows without making any adjustment to their life; they ended up feeling depressed and blame others. For me, whatever happened to us is our responsibility and we have to handle it and not blaming on others. And a teacher, I’m hoping for the best in my students’ future and hope they know how to balance their life between study and playing so that they would be able to answer all questions… Good luck students.

LENT- A TIME FOR DEDICATION

Each year Lent is a time for renewal. It could be renewal in the sense of abstinence both of hunger and temperament action or simply self-renewal. However, it could mean beyond that. Lent derives from a Greek word, metanoia which connotes a change of minds and heart. As we celebrate the season of Lent (to all Catholics), let us always remember the poor and the needy. Ultimately, this is spiritual renewal as well and helps us grow closer to our Lord who tells us that if we wish to love Him, we must express that love as love for the least of our brothers and sisters.

Listening to the news-locally, nationally, globally- is a beginning. Who appears to be suffering? Who seems to be tremendously burdened? Nevertheless, not all poor are in the news, but a sensitive scan of the news is a place to start. Or, without our realization, all these while those who are in need are just around us. Lend them a hand this Lent season. It could be in any form, prayers or almsgiving (could be in any form affordable). Remember that more than 800 million people who go to bed hungry each night.

According to HERALD, we tend not to think of the poor very much because to do so can render us sad or feeling “unable to cry”. But if we use a time like Lent to try to reflect upon the situation of the poor near us and around the world, then the world will help us come to know God’s special love for them. In this reflection we will discover God’s love for us because we will experience solidarity with the poor. We can become aware of how narrow our concerns are or how self-centered we have become. Reflection upon the situation of the poor will draw us closer to them, helping us understand the mystery of radical dependence on God. Ultimately, our closeness with the poor during Lent will make us more “Christ-like” for He is the one who became completely one to us.

Hence, let us dedicate ourselves to the ways that He wants us to be especially during this Lent season.
