Be careful

Have to be extra careful with own health.. H1N1 has affected our school. Luckily only one is examined to be positive. I developed some symptoms few days ago after returning from KK (went back for a funeral). Got a little bit scared but still manage to overcome it. If I happened to have fever again in this coming three or four days then I have to have a full check up at hospital then. Hopefull I won't get a bad news.

Stop talking if you aren't acting...

Some like to complaint but doing nothing, some just sit and and doing nothing. Which one do you prefer? Both moght not work for you.. Let say you are FORCE to opt... Which one suit you? I prefer the later. Why? Because I hate when people keep on saying this and that.. aiming this and that but had no force or has no direction in doing what he or she dreams of.. Buzz off and shut your mouth then

Wishing for things

I wish for a change almost everyday.. why? I want a better day, day by day. Of course others wish for the same though. None want to have the same day everyday. It would be dull for us. Little did I realise that wishing a thing could be a trigger or stressor. When I'm stress none looks like a rainbow. Last week, I went back L.Datu and I encounter mummy's book.. forgot the title but the author is Andrew Matthews. A renowed speaker from Australia. Grabbed the book and finish reading in a day. Ignoring other works. Really hook up with this book. Check out a link to his website. http://success-and-happiness.net/wishing-for-things.html

Miss to Madam..

Students are always funny. When they discovered that I'm already married, my once famous title (MISS) automatically switch to MADAM. And I am here still adapting myself to this new title. It's good that my status has upgraded. Once my ex student called my and keep calling me MISS.. I corrected him and said I' m not MISS anymore but MRS. Then he said ohh... MADAM.. I feel like I am like one of the police officer who has a high ranking position. Hehehehehe.. When I got gift and the mc announce my name as PUAN Dawn instead of my use to title... I got a weird feeling. Funny + scary + weird+ is-the-mc-calling-me-kindda-of feeling

English

I always love English. I am not born in a English speaking family We only speak English occasionally. That would be a mixture with Kadazan, Dusun and Malay. In short we speak ‘rojak’ at home. My fond of English comes out when my family was transferred to Lahad Datu. There I have many Filipinos friends who are quite good in English. Besides, in order to understand my teacher for catechism (Sunday school) I must have extensively quite good command of English. Not wanting to be left behind, I polished my English. I have no regret in doing so. After SPM I further my study in TESL. Though it was never my choice by that time but I have no other option. I always want to do law but never have the support. So here I am being an English teacher who often hears complaints from students that English is hard. Kids…if you say English is difficult then why you never get extinction in your BM either... make sense kan…These kids always give the same old-lame-rotten excuses. Yet I never doubt that English is a crazy language. Learning one grammar rule to another will lead to insanity. In the end, only common sense sounds right.

English is one of the noblest bodies of literature yet is a crazy language. There is no egg in eggplant, neither pine nor apple in pineapple, and no ham in hamburger. English muffins weren’t invented in England or French fries in France. Sweetmeats are candy, while sweetbreads, which aren’t sweet, are meat.
We take English for granted. But when we explore its paradoxes, we find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square, and a guinea pig is neither a pig nor from Guinea.
And why is it that a writer writes, but fingers don’t fing, grocers don’t groce and hammers don’t ham? If the plural of tooth is teeth, shouldn’t the plural of booth be beeth? One goose, two geese- so one mouse, two meese? One index, two indices – one Kleenex, two Kleenices?
If the teacher taught, why isn’t it true that the preacher praught? If a horsehair mat is made from the hair of horses and a camel’s hair coat from the hair of camels, from what is a mohair coat made from? If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?
Well kids, English was invented by people, not computers, and it reflects the creativity of the human race (which of course, isn’t really a race at all). That is why, when stars are out they are visible, but when the lights are out they are invisible. And why, when I wind up my watch I start it, but when I wind up this essay I end it.

Weak end...

Since I have not been running for many years already and without any warm up, I'm having a weak weakend. At least Hasni made it to the end and become the first... Can't forget the victorious moment... The students might feel the same as we did when we emerge as the champion though MEGA only got third place overall. Kudos to all.. Hope to have another sport days next year.

Tips..

Some who are getting married may have problems with their weight. I did when my wedding was approaching. I desperately want to gain weight at least 3 kilos. I don’t want to look thin and pale. Definitely my hubby will not have mood looking at me… hahahahaha.. na.. I encounter an article on healthy eating tips. Here it is.. just to share some with you all.

- have breakfast within 30 minutes of waking up to stabilize blood sugar and reduce sugar cravings
- consume a mix of colourful vegetables every day
- use fats and oils sparingly. Olive, canola, and peanut oils, avocados, nuts and nuts butters and fish as well as vitamins and minerals.
- Don’t skip meals. Eating increases your metabolism, so eat four to five small meals every three to four hours
- Have low-fat, low-sugar snacks at hand to combat hunger and prevent over-eating.
- Increase eating of natural foods and reduce processed foods. Natural foods such as fruits and vegetables are, for the most part, already low in calories.
- Eat sweet sparingly and cut out white foods like sugar, flour and bread. They raise insulin levels, protecting your stored fat instead of burning it off.
- Drink at least 8 glasses of water. Water flushes out the system and eliminates armful toxins. It forces the body to work more efficiently, speeds up metabolism, and makes it easier to lose weight and burn fat.
- Eat slowly. Chew your food completely to decrease your appetite.
- Do not eat after 8 p.m. as this is the time your digestion starts to slow down. However, if you’re famished and absolutely must eat, take a small piece of fruit or a cup of herbal tea.

Jokes

I always love jokes… Can’t live without it even a day. I think something wrong with me if I didn’t laugh even once a day. The saying ‘Laughter, the best medicine’ is indeed true for me. If none is accompanying me I would rather sit down and read on jokes and laugh all alone. Those who knows me definitely knows how much I laugh… here are some beneficial jokes to share.

*A bachelor asked the computer to find him the perfect mate: ‘I want a companion who is small and cute, loves water sports and enjoys group activities.”
Back came the answer: “Marry a penguin”.

*At the perfume counter, a customer picked up one bottle and gingerly sniffed its fragrance, ‘surrender’ is our hottest item,” interjected the salesclerk. “Would you like to purchase some?”
“It’s nice,” she replied. “But do you have anything called ‘Negotiate’?”

*The great novelist had gone mad, but now there seemed to be some hope for his recovery. For six months, he had been sitting at his typewriter pounding out a novel. Finally he pronounced it completed and brought the book to his psychiatrist, who eagerly began reading it aloud:
“General Jackson leaped upon his faithful horse and yelled, ‘Giddyap, giddyap, giddyap, giddyap….’” The doctor thumbed through the rest of the manuscript. “There’s nothing here but 500 pages of giddyaps!” he exclaimed.
“Stubborn horse,” explained the writer.

Gonna miss him...

It will be a month pass before I'm foing to meet hubby. Next week he'll be away to Clark for company trip. This week pun can't meet him. He hasn't been back to Keningau after our wedding because of work load. It's okay lah...what to do.. just accept it then. The good news is that he'll be at Tawau for a week after his trip. Self quarantine from H1N1. I'm so happy... Extremely. I warn him many times to be careful and take care of his personal hygiene. Silap-silap kita plak yang terkena nanti. He got a jab for H1N1. Then, comes with sore throat. Pity him. Could only sms him many times. Can't talk that much. Got to ask him to wash hands many times when he goes toilent. have to ask him too to buy waterless hand sanitizer and tissue.. got to do it now before I forgot. I'm absent minded lately...
